Developed and maintained by Arckipel, the app provides dynamic access to monuments, local insights, and off-path discoveries — in multiple languages, with or without internet connectivity.
Technically, Travelmeit combines a secure and scalable backend with advanced AI-driven content delivery. At its core, the app leverages a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipeline: combining structured open datasets with custom AI summarization to generate accurate, contextual POI descriptions. These summaries are powered by LLMs from OpenAI, deployed via Microsoft Azure, and fine-tuned for travel-specific knowledge, multilingual output, and voice assistance.
But Travelmeit goes beyond static information. A real-time dialogue assistant enables users to ask natural-language questions about nearby sites — and receive curated, relevant responses. This interactive layer creates a more personal and intuitive experience, helping users navigate cultural landmarks just as they would with a local guide.
Behind the scenes, an asynchronous content improvement system continuously refines POI descriptions based on user interactions and newly available sources. To ensure factual reliability, Travelmeit uses a cross-verification engine that compares multiple data inputs before surfacing results. Meanwhile, AI-powered indexing automatically positions new points on the map without manual effort — keeping the experience fresh and geographically relevant.
